Vancouver, BC - July 3, 2014. Newport Exploration Ltd. ("Newport") has become aware of a Notice of Civil Claim brought under the BC Class Proceedings Act against Newport, Reva Resources Corp. ("Reva") and certain directors and officers of Newport and Reva (the "Claim"). The Claim as it pertains to Newport alleges that Newport failed to generally disclose a material change in its affairs relating to a royalty held by it on certain oil and gas properties in Australia as a result of which the price of Newport's securities was artificially deflated and persons who sold Newport shares during a defined period suffered damage. The Claim as it pertains to the named directors and officers relate to their alleged failure to ensure proper disclosure was made as well as certain allegations of improper trading.
Neither Newport nor the named directors and officers have as yet bee11 served with any court documents. However they have obtained a copy of the Claim and are of the view that the allegations against them are without merit. Newport and the named directors and officers intend to vigorously defend the Claim.
